Gliding Stars

Gliding Stars is a leader in adaptive ice-skating programs which supports individuals with physical, emotional, intellectual, and other challenges in the Buffalo area. Founded in 1994, the organization has seven chapters from Western New York to Central Florida.  The skaters use special adaptive devices to skate on ice to interact with others, learn teamwork, and participate in the end of the season Ice Extravaganza Performance that the WNY Club puts on in the spring. The gala on-ice skating performance is attended by family, friends, and members of the community at a local ice rink.

Kiwanis Club of Buffalo and Canisius College Circle K members have banded together to help Gliding Stars with handing out brochures, greeting skaters’ families, operating the chair lift, ushering, and crowd control for the annual performance for over 15 years.
