Ruth Jantz served as the Kiwanis Club of Buffalo secretary for many decades and was dearly loved by the membership. Upon her passing, the club decided to initiate a scholarship fund to honor her dedication and support of the work the club does in Western New York.

The scholarship is offered to high school seniors from the City of Buffalo going to a college or higher institute of learning of their choice.
